Geothermal
Geothermal energy relies on a very ingenious idea. It is cost effective and eco-friendly. Basically, during the winter, the heat pump extracts the heat from the ground which is around 8 degrees Celsius, then converts this low temperature to +- 50 degrees Celsius in order to heat interior of the house using it.
During the summer, the pump extracts heat from the house and then sends it into the ground, forming a heat sink for the winter. As the ground temperature is close to 8 degrees Celsius both during the winter and the summer, the fresh temperature of the ground is returned into the house. Therefore, a geothermal heat pump system acts as a self sufficient central heating and cooling system for a residential house.
Installing a geothermal system is a very good investment. Indeed, just like installing any heating system or an air conditioning system, there are costs; but a geothermal system will give incredible results when compared to the other energy systems.
It produces up to 3 to 4 kW in energy with only 1 kW of electricity. This performance makes it easy to understand that energy costs will be greatly reduced by 3 to 4 times when you compare a geothermal systems with an electrical heating systems. Also, the environment is not damaged when using geothermal systems and absolutely no greenhouse gases are produced. It does not depend on the luminosity intensity outside or on the winds to function well either and the resources used are permanent, unlike most resources on earth.
Boreal Geothermal thinks it is very important to protect the environment for future generations by reducing greenhouse gases emissions and abandoning dangerous habits that we may have. Geothermal energy is a sensible choice as it provides a quality lifestyle without unwanted consequences.
